Reading: what this result means for the job
A small annual chemical spend. At this level the purchase is often made on a purchase order from a catalogue, so the price per gallon entered here is the number to check against the invoice rather than a list price.
Applicability limit
The spend follows the area, the number of cleanings and the coverage rate entered. It is a chemical-only figure: it excludes the labour, the equipment and the consumables, and it assumes every cleaning uses the same coverage rate. This is a planning figure for the values entered, not a measured result. Coverage rates, product yields and application rates are properties of a specific product, applicator and substrate, and the label or data sheet for the product you are using always takes precedence over the default here. Cost covers the chemical only, at the price entered. It excludes labour, equipment, applicators, consumables, freight, storage, waste disposal and any over-pour that the allowance does not capture.

What to check

  • Count the services actually delivered in the last year, not the ones contracted.
  • Check whether the area cleaned each visit is the same on every visit.
  • Reconcile the result against the chemical invoices for the same period.

The frequency is the input that matters and it is the one most often guessed. A nightly service is not 7 times a weekly service in product, because the nightly service covers less area each time. This model scales the area cleaned, and that assumption belongs to you.
