Reading: what this result means for the job
The dispenser is delivering the label dilution within a few percent, which is calibration as good as it needs to be. The point of the check is the drift: measure it again after the seals age or the water pressure changes.
Applicability limit
The EPA-registered label governs. Using a registered antimicrobial inconsistently with its labeling is unlawful under 7 U.S.C. 136j(a)(2)(G), and 40 CFR 156.10(i)(2)(ii) requires every label to carry that statement. This tool does arithmetic; it does not approve a dilution, and it does not determine compliance. This is a planning figure for the values entered, not a measured result. Coverage rates, product yields and application rates are properties of a specific product, applicator and substrate, and the label or data sheet for the product you are using always takes precedence over the default here. The comparison follows the measured concentrate and water volumes and the label ratio entered, and both measurements have to be made the same way each time. The cost difference covers the chemical only, and a dispenser that drifts also changes the concentration that reaches the surface, which this figure does not measure. Cost covers the chemical only, at the price entered. It excludes labour, equipment, applicators, consumables, freight, storage, waste disposal and any over-pour that the allowance does not capture.

What to check
- Measure the delivered dilution with a calibrated test kit or refractometer.
- Record the volume actually dispensed per day, not the theoretical output.
- Check the dispenser against the manufacturer procedure before blaming the product.
