Reading: what this result means for the job
The dispenser pays for itself inside the first year on the waste it saves alone. Take the figure to the owner of the budget with the waste measurement that produced it, since the saving is only as good as the weighing that started it.
Applicability limit
The saving is the waste reduction applied to the annual chemical spend, and it assumes the dispenser keeps delivering the same dilution every day. The cost of the dispenser includes installation, and this figure excludes the consumable tubing, the seals, the servicing and the labour of mixing. This is a planning figure for the values entered, not a measured result. Coverage rates, product yields and application rates are properties of a specific product, applicator and substrate, and the label or data sheet for the product you are using always takes precedence over the default here. Cost covers the chemical only, at the price entered. It excludes labour, equipment, applicators, consumables, freight, storage, waste disposal and any over-pour that the allowance does not capture.

What to check

  • Measure the waste by weighing what is poured against what is used.
  • Add the annual cost of tubing, seals and servicing to the installed cost.
  • Check the dispenser is rated for the products and the temperature on site.

The waste percentages are the fragile part of this calculation: they come from a physical audit of the closet, not from a rule of thumb. A dispenser also needs maintenance and consumable tubing, which this figure does not include.
