Degreaser Cost Comparison Calculator

Compare two degreasers on the same floor using the cost of a gallon of working solution instead of the price of a case.

Inputs

Range: 1–1,000,000

Length times width of the area to be cleaned.

Range: 50–20,000 sq ft per gallon

Enter the measured or label value in the units shown.

Range: 0.01–1,000,000

Enter the current purchase price in US dollars for the unit shown.

Reading: what this result means for the job
Product B is cheaper on this area at the rates entered. The saving is the chemical only: a product that needs a second pass, a longer dwell or a different pad has a cost this figure does not carry.
Applicability limit
This compares the cost of the working solution at a stated coverage, which is the figure that changes a programme cost. It does not compare performance, corrosivity, residue or the effect on the floor finish, and it excludes the labour of applying the product. This is a planning figure for the values entered, not a measured result. Coverage rates, product yields and application rates are properties of a specific product, applicator and substrate, and the label or data sheet for the product you are using always takes precedence over the default here. Cost covers the chemical only, at the price entered. It excludes labour, equipment, applicators, consumables, freight, storage, waste disposal and any over-pour that the allowance does not capture.

What to check

  • Derive the working solution cost from the concentrate price and the label dilution, then enter it here.
  • Use a coverage figure measured on the same surface and method for both products.
  • Re-run with the pass count each product actually needs, not a single pass for both.
