Reading: what this result means for the job
One container covers the schedule. Order the pail size the distributor stocks, and note the date on the pail you open, because the shelf life runs from manufacture and the open pail is the one that ages.
Applicability limit
The yield assumes a full container, a full floor and no loss to over-pour, to the mixing tank left at the end of a shift, or to the seal of a part container. A first coat on a porous floor also uses more than the rate entered, so the yield of the first coat is lower than the yield of the second. This is a planning figure for the values entered, not a measured result. Coverage rates, product yields and application rates are properties of a specific product, applicator and substrate, and the label or data sheet for the product you are using always takes precedence over the default here. Cost covers the chemical only, at the price entered. It excludes labour, equipment, applicators, consumables, freight, storage, waste disposal and any over-pour that the allowance does not capture.

What to check

  • Check the container size actually stocked by your distributor before rounding up.
  • Confirm the coat count in the schedule, since yield halves as coats double.
  • Record the leftover quantity so the next order can be reduced.

Related calculators

Container yield depends on the coat count as well as the coverage rate, so a pail that finishes a floor in two coats will not finish it in four. The leftover figure is included because an over-order ties up cash and the product carries a shelf life.
